Pride Royal Ivy (プライド・ロイヤル・アイビー) is the Main Protagonist of The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess To Savior, and the main anatgonist/villainess of To A Beam Of Light With You. Before becoming a reincarnate, she was a cruel and evil noble, but upon becoming the host of an isekai'd Japanese Highschooler, she becomes a kind and loving person, hoping to change the story and make a happier ending.

Appearance[]

Pride has pale skin with deep crimson red wavy hair with a black bow behind her head. She has purple eyes.

She is mostly seen wearing gowns that are black and deep crimson red similar to her hair. She is always seen wearing a black collar with a golden stone on it.

Personality[]

In-game[]

In her original game incarnation, Pride is the embodiment of evil as she has no redeeming quality in her personality. Pride is malicious to the core and has no remorse over all the atrocities she did, including murder, manipulation and slavery. She is also completely sadistic, taking pleasure in other's misery. Presumably, she also did not care about her parents' passing and might even enjoyed the fact that no one is controlling or guiding her. In summary she is prideful, selfish, self-righteous and narcisstic, which is why her original character the complete opposite to her reincarnated counterpart and the reason everybody wished her death.

In anime[]

Although she sometimes uses cunning, she is fundamentally kind, aware of her unique skill and "cheats" and has a habit of internally showing her Imposter Syndrome down to her core, but slowly realizes although she is the Pride of her video game, at her core she is more like the reincarnated School girl who resides in the Princess. Due to this fact, she became extremely sensitive, empathic and caring to every person she cares about, willing to do everything including sacrificing herself for their safety and happiness. She harbors immense amount of guilt due to her knowing the atrocities that her game counterpart might cause and will do everything she can to prevent any tragedies that she supposed to "create", the same guilt often cause her to break into tears out of empathy whenever she remembers the tragic events. However, she also often shed tears of happiness whenever the tragedies were prevented and witnessing other's happiness because of her empathy and genuine kindness. Pride prioritizes her people's welfare over herself, both out of desire of survival in the future, genuine guilt and empathy. This made people flock to her and willing to sacrifice themselves for her safety, such as the case of Arthur Beresford.

Her past self used to be a great baker, being able to make extravagant sweets like homemade chocolate, cookies, brownies, sweet loaves and even candy, but since becoming Pride, one of her skills makes her dishes always becoming charred burned blocks of mistakes, which makes her extremely frustrated because even if she follows the recipes to the letter, no matter how long it's in the oven it automatically becomes burned to a crisp.

History[]

In her past life, she was a plain high school student and died in an accident at the age of 18. She likes the third installment of the KimiHika series and has only played it once, so her memory of the game content is shallow and she often remembers important things just before they happen. This may be her Premonition that Pride has as the princess, but it also calls forward the reincarnated soul's past memories of the game much more vividly, but because of her quick actions and knows right from wrong she generally makes the right choice without deviating into uncharted territory. She often struggles with thoughts of her reverting to the Video game Pride, making the audience aware of her Imposter Syndrome, though it takes her a long time before she understands that the Pride from her past won't ever come to her present.

Skills[]

She is in the position of the final boss, so her intelligence and combat abilities are at a cheat level, and even in her childhood just after remembering her memories, she has the ability to overwhelm adults naturally. In a match with Stale's swordsmanship teacher, she won in an instant despite holding a sword for the first time, and in the Knight Order surprise attack incident, she neutralized all the men of the underworld with just a sword and a gun she held for the first time, and her innate sense of combat. However, she is not invincible and is quite weak, so when she is suppressed, she has no way to resist, and as part of the final boss cheat, she is cursed with being terrible at household chores, cooking, cleaning and even the simple act of remaking her own bed.

Trivia[]

  • Ironically despite her name, the reincarnated Pride is shown to never take pride in herself. Instead it's her people who are proud and happy for having such a lovable Princess taking over the crown someday.
  • Pride loves cute things and fawns over her younger sister to the point of becoming unaware of her surroundings.
  • In the anime, after the awakened Pride changes the scripted events of the game, memory flashbacks are shown to the character in question depicting what certain situations were "supposed" to be, following the events of the game as if Pride never regained the memories of her past self. These characters wake up with a slight headache and a sense of unease, but retain no memory of this flashback.
